Learning English as Foreign Language in Indonesia through English Children's Literature by Leni Marlina

English has become an international language in the world. English can be a bridge of communication between countries that have different mother languages. That means the use of English language is really important. English becomes first language and second language in many countries. Meanwhile in Indonesia, English still deems as foreign language. Many Indonesian do not understand English at all. Therefore, it is really necessary to teach English language to Indonesian people. Many Indonesian people think English is tough to learn. Because of that, good teaching and learning style is really needed.

This article journal, Learning English as Foreign Language in Indonesia through English Children's Literature by Leni Marlina can assist us to find a good, fun and attractive language teaching style. Marlina has described the way to teach EFL (English as Foreign Language) using English Children’s literature. This method is fascinating. Many people from kids to adult enjoy reading children’s literature because it is really fun and amusing. This English Children’s literature also can help non-English speaker to learn English in attractive way. They can enhance their vocabulary through English Children’s literature. Marlina also give us tips how to choose appropriate Children’s literature, type of children’s literature that can we use to teach EFL and how to integrate children’s literature in EFL classroom. All of those can assist us to make fun and attractive way to teach EFL.

This article journal has 6 parts. The first part talks about the abstract, second part talks about the introduction: English as Foreign Language (EFL) in Indonesia, third part about the importance of appropriating children’s literature, fourth part about types of children’s literature which can be used in teaching EFL at secondary school, the fifth part about how to integrate children’s literature in EFL classroom and the last part talks about the concluding of this article.
